Litorale Santa Maria di Leuca

Santa Maria di Leuca: extreme point of the Heel of Italy, so that it deserves the name of “de finibus terrae”, Latin phrase that literally means “at the ends of the earth”.
The name of Leuca comes from the Greek term “leukos” (white). This idea were hold dear by the ancient Greek sailor-men, who, after whole days of navigation, were enchanted by the sun shining on the coasts of the territory of Leuca, a fascinating place especially thanks to its particular geographic position.
