Litorale Santa Maria di Leuca

Marina di Pescoluse is a small seaside resort in the South of Salento with a beautiful nearly 3,5 km long
beach.
In recent years the beach of Marina di Pescoluse has been dubbed with the name “Maldives of Salento”:
fine white sand, crystal-clear sea and a shallow water, which allows anyone to enjoy a bath in complete
relax, make this beach one of the most appreciated by tourists.

The beach of Marina di Pescoluse

The beach of Marina di Pescoluse is a few hundred metres from the homonymous village, a hamlet of the Municipality of Salve. There are both many stretches of equipped beach and many points with free access.

Among the main equipped beaches, we must mention Lido Venere, Le Cinque Vele and Maldive del Salento, where you can enjoy a comfortable stay. These beaches, indeed, offer their guests small thatched huts instead of the classical parasol. In addition to the original thatched huts, the tourist offer includes sunbeds and food service.

Moreover, there are stretches of free beach nestled within an equipped beach and another one. Though the length of the coastline is significant (about 3,5 km), the stretches of free beach tend to get crowded in a short time. For this reason, we suggest you to arrive no later than 9:00 a.m. to easily find place, especially
in the hot weekends of summer, when the beach is overrun by thousands of tourists since the early morning.

Another tip: we suggest you to book your vacation in the first two weeks of June or in the first half of September, when the pleasant climate allows you to enjoy a perfect holiday, to avoid the largest number of tourists.

How to get to the beach of Marina di Pescoluse

Marina di Pescoluse is on the Ionian coast of the Southern Salento, south of Gallipoli. If you arrive from the North, the easiest way is to take the highway SS274 (continuation of the highway SS101, after having passed Gallipoli), and then take the exit for Salve.

You will enter the main road SP339 and follow the driving directions to the centre of Marina di Pescoluse. Once arrived in the town, go straight on until you reach the sea promenade, where you will find the beach.

If you arrive from the Adriatic coast of Salento, for example from the town of Otranto, the reference street is the highway SS275, that you can take in the proximity of Maglie (follow the driving directions to Leuca).
At the height of Miggiano, take the main road SP181 (in the direction of Specchia), then continue along the main road SP76 until you get to Salve. From here you can reach Marina di Pescoluse.
